A. All Victorian households are eligible to receive the hot water upgrade. To be eligible, you must have an inefficient gas/electric hot water system with atleast 2 years old and they will incur an installation fee which starts from as low as $990*.
A solar-boosted hot water system is eligible for an upgrade if it relies solely on gas or LPG heating due to non-functional solar components, is out of warranty, and has been installed for at least five years.
* Price is exclusive of GST.
A. Discount fluctuates based on the existing hot water system in place. The final installed price of the heat pump, which includes the discount will depend on several factors, including:
- hot water system type (Electric can be done for free, Gas has less rebate so it incurs a cost)
- certificate price (which fluctuates)
- location
- installation costs
- administrative costs.
